Lincoln Haberdashery has been on our radar to try since they first opened. We know they have been open for a while, but we have been busy so cut us a little slack. Coffee, wine, baked goods, and food prepared with fresh ingredients is the right recipe to get us in the door. But the delicious fresh prepared food is why we will be back. We opted to stop in for breakfast and our first thought was, “this is a cool little spot”!
The attention to detail of the décor is one of the most unique elements of eating here. There are pop culture elements tied in with exposed piping that gives you the feeling that you are a part of a secret society of cool people. There is floor to ceiling shelving that is home to all the amazing wine that you can enjoy then or a little later.
We stood back for a moment to think about what we wanted to order. We chose Mary’s Muffin and the supersized cinnamon roll that was staring so intensely at us that we had no choice but to add it to our order. We sat in the upper dining area awaited our order to come up. First up the cinnamon roll...
Let’s file this cinnamon roll under amazing! We have sampled mini rolls in life, and I think we all agreed that this is probably top 3 of many cinnamon roll we have ever tasted. The dough was a not overly sweet but more flavorful than your average roll. An average cinnamon rolls hides behind a lot of cinnamon sugar and a lot of frosting. But, one bite of the roll without any cinnamon sugar or frosting really shows the love that was kneaded into that dough. It was beautifully baked to the prettiest golden-brown color and topped with a delicious not overly sweet cream cheese frosting.
Next up was Mary’s Muffin with bacon, cheddar, tomato, and Duke’s mayo, because in the South there is only Duke’s. All of that savory goodness is then sandwiched on a ciabatta roll. Every component of this sandwich was delicious. From the crispy bacon to the fluffy eggs, the one thing we would have done differently is add avocado because avocado makes everything better.
We sat back drinking our coffee and taking it all in. We finally realized what they hype was about we had our “aha moment”. There we were just a couple of friends enjoying a Sunday morning, but this place is cool and inclusive to everyone. Bring your laptop, bring your friends for brunch or lunch, or have a no-frills date with your main squeeze. Next time we are going to grab a “mimosa kit”, another cinnamon roll and just kickback for a moment. As you all know we are always on our way to the next food adventure so a moment never lasts too long, but we will be back soon!
